Here are answers to some questions I’m often asked:
Tarot readings are scary/the devil’s work/going to tell me bad stuff that I don’t want to know!
Tarot readings are a tool to access intuition. That’s it. Tarot cards aren’t tools of Satan or the occult. Tarot cards do not hold their own power or magic. A Tarot deck is a set of 78 illustrated cards, similar to a deck of playing cards, and have no hidden power from dark (or light) sources.
But the DEATH card…!
As I teach in my workshops, Tarot readings are all about intention. I set very clear parameters at the beginning of every reading that it’s meant to be empowering, inspiring and illuminating. The death card, in my readings, NEVER means physical death of any kind (no plants, animals or people are going to die). It means that necessary and positive change is coming (the thing making it scary and ominous is your reaction to change). I could go on (and on) about how much I love getting this card!
What are tarot cards and how do they work?
The Tarot is most commonly viewed as a tool for divination, expanding intuition, and self-discovery. Insight is often provided regarding relationships, career and other life changes/events. The answers and guidance from Tarot cards are not meant to be the sole factor on which we base plans and decisions. Tarot cards do not predict your future, tell you there’s nothing you can do about it or tell you what to do.
What are your tarot readings like?
As a tarot card reader, my job is to empower you to make positive changes in your life that facilitate the manifestation of your intentions. I’m here to remind you of your free will and help you take back your personal power to create the future you want. I will work with you to define your desired outcome, explore the current energies that surround you and understand the likely outcomes if you were to follow certain paths. You will feel empowered to make independent decisions about what may best lead to your desired outcome. You can be sitting directly in front of me or a thousand miles away – it really doesn’t matter as long as you approach the reading with an open mind.
How does intuition play into it?
Everyone has “psychic ability” to some degree (often referred to as your “intuition” or “sixth sense”). Tarot provides a connection to your higher self/wisdom, inner guide, God, Spirit, Universe or whatever label works for you. This connection is always available to you because it’s a part of you. Two people can have the exact same cards in the exact same layout but it will mean very different things, and intuition helps to sort it all out.
